Yes, Israel's parliamentarians indeed convened to vote themselves a pay raise. Even though they have a semi-excuse about how the old pay rate was based on flawed economics or something like that, there is absolutely no way this could possibly go down well with the public at large with local and world economy in such a worrying state. Politicians, people!
